According to Amazon Jobs, the responsibilities of this role include auditing and monitoring food safety programs, maintaining compliance metrics, managing large-scale escalations, investigating incidents, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as the Food Safety Modernization Act and FDA guidelines. The manager will lead cross-functional teams, develop corrective actions, analyze systemic issues, and provide updates to senior leadership while participating in on-call rotations and traveling up to 60%.
Candidates are expected to have a bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field, along with five or more years of experience managing food safety and quality in large-scale retail or manufacturing environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and program management is also required. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, online or retail experience, and five or more years of project management experience. Base pay ranges from $109,000 to $185,000 depending on location, reflecting regional labor costs.
