Amazon has announced a new role for a security and loss prevention specialist in Staten Island, New York. This position aims to lead efforts in safeguarding employees, property, inventory, equipment, data, and intellectual property within a designated facility.
According to Amazon’s Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS), the organization provides global support for field security and loss prevention across its operations, retail, and affiliate businesses. Security and Loss Prevention Specialists are tasked with protecting employees and assets by conducting confidential investigations, identifying vulnerabilities, and advising site leadership on security strategies and compliance. They also develop mitigation plans, manage alarms and system issues, and liaise with internal teams, vendors, and law enforcement to maintain operational safety and efficiency.
In daily operations, the specialist is responsible for performing security audits, investigating policy violations and incidents, monitoring systems, and analyzing data to identify risks. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, external security providers, local law enforcement, as well as delivering loss prevention training. WWOS offers a structured environment of global security centers of excellence to ensure secure operations through policy adherence, training initiatives, technology use, and compliance audits. The position requires at least a high school diploma along with relevant experience in security or loss prevention. The base pay ranges from $42,300 to $72,600 annually depending on location.
