Amazon announced in a press release that Amazon Business now serves over eight million organizations worldwide, excluding emerging markets, generating $35 billion in annualized gross sales through procurement tools, broad selection, and cost-saving features.

The global B2B e-commerce industry has been expanding as companies increasingly shift procurement to digital platforms to save costs and improve efficiency. According to Grand View Research, the global B2B e-commerce market was valued at $8.52 trillion in 2022 and is forecasted to grow at a 20.2% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2023 and 2030. Amazon Business’s milestone of eight million organizational customers aligns with this trend, showing how the company has become central to the digital transformation of procurement worldwide.

Amazon Business’s growth underscores its importance within Amazon’s broader business strategy. According to Digital Commerce 360, the platform surpassed $35 billion in annualized gross sales in 2025 and now serves more than eight million organizations, including 97 of the Fortune 100. This level of adoption illustrates how Amazon has successfully adapted its consumer marketplace model to enterprise needs by blending vast selection with procurement-specific features.

Small and medium-sized businesses represent a major portion of Amazon Business’s customer base and have realized substantial savings. According to PYMNTS, small business customers worldwide saved over $70 million in 2023 from quantity discounts, with U.S. small businesses saving more than $25 million. These savings, along with access to spend analytics and Guided Buying, enable smaller firms to optimize their budgets and reinvest in operations, strengthening competitiveness in their markets.

Amazon Business, launched in 2015, is a division of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) designed to provide organizations with tailored procurement solutions. According to Amazon, the service now operates in 11 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan, India, and Australia, and serves more than eight million organizations globally. Its offerings include multi-user accounts, approval workflows, business-only pricing, and tax-exempt purchasing, positioning it as a strategic procurement partner for both small businesses and multinational corporations.
