Nily Rozic, a member of the New York State Assembly, announced a partnership between Amazon and Commonpoint to deliver Ring security products to older adults in Queens. This initiative supports aging-in-place efforts in her district, according to a press release.

“Thank you Commonpoint and Amazon for working together to bring this Ring camera initiative to Queens,” said Rozic, New York State Assembly District 25. “Through collaborations like this – the public, private, and nonprofit sector working together – we are making sure older adults feel safe and secure at home and giving them added security and confidence in their daily lives. This is an ideal example of how I will continue to support the well-being of our community-at-large.”

The collaboration between Amazon and Commonpoint aims to reduce senior isolation and improve home security through technology donations. This reflects a broader push to ensure aging-in-place initiatives are supported across New York’s urban neighborhoods. The partnership helps integrate nonprofit programming with smart technology solutions that provide older adults with greater independence and safety.

According to the press release, residents of Assemblywoman Rozic’s district in Northeast Queens will be eligible to receive one of the 250 Ring Doorbells or 50 Ring Cameras, along with free lifetime subscriptions. These devices will be made available to individuals aged 60 and above through Commonpoint programs, including the NORC Without Walls and Deepdale CARES initiatives, assisting local seniors in living safely and independently.

Ring, owned by Amazon, has launched similar senior safety donation initiatives nationwide. In partnership with USAging, the company has pledged 5,000 video security devices to support older adults through 10 Area Agencies on Aging across the United States. These donations include lifetime subscriptions and training, helping thousands of seniors gain access to smart safety tools.

Rozic has represented New York’s 25th Assembly District since 2013, covering communities in Northeast Queens. She chairs the Assembly’s Consumer Protection Committee and serves on the Rules, Labor, Ways & Means, and Corporations committees. A graduate of Syracuse University and New York University (NYU), Rozic was born in Jerusalem and raised in Queens. She was recognized as a City & State Rising Star in 2013.
