Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the nomination of Linda Scott to serve on the Commission on Ethics in Lobbying and Government. This announcement follows established procedures, giving the public seven business days to submit comments about the nominee. After this period, Scott’s nomination will be reviewed by the Independent Review Committee, which consists of deans from law schools across New York.
“The Commission on Ethics in Lobbying and Government is a crucial body to hold government accountable and increase transparency,” Governor Hochul said. “I am pleased to nominate Linda Scott for the Committee’s review and look forward to continuing our work to restore trust in government.”
Linda Scott’s professional background includes serving as Managing Director/Associate Corporate Secretary at JPMorgan Chase for 11 years until 2024, where she oversaw shareholder outreach, board advisory, and policy development. She previously held roles such as Executive Partner/Managing Director at Governance For Owners and Director of Investor Affairs at the NYS Common Retirement Fund within the Office of the New York State Comptroller. Her academic credentials include a B.A. from Trinity College in Connecticut and an M.A. from Yale University.
The state has provided an online platform for members of the public who wish to comment on Scott’s nomination during the designated period.
