Governor Kathy Hochul visited Middletown to tour completed projects that were funded through New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The city has also finished 17 additional projects as part of its Façade and Storefront Signage Improvement Program, which received $1 million in funding from the DRI. These efforts are intended to help establish a downtown area that acts as the economic, civic, and cultural hub for the community.

According to state officials, these combined projects support both state and local goals for revitalizing Middletown’s downtown area. Photos from Governor Hochul’s tour can be found on her Flickr page, and before-and-after images of the DRI projects are also available online.
