Each year, Marist College highlights its campus with a holiday tradition centered on a large tree adorned with 78,000 LED lights. The display is prepared by staff led by Epifanio “Epi” Perez, who has overseen the process for more than thirty years. According to the college, Perez and his team handle both the planning and installation of the lights.

President Kevin Weinman discussed this tradition with Perez in a recent episode of “Between 2 Foxes.” During their conversation, they addressed the work that goes into creating the display and its significance for the campus community. Weinman stated: “From meticulous planning to hands-on craftsmanship, Epi and his team make sure every light reflects the spirit of Marist.”

The annual tree lighting event has also gained attention online. A video posted to TikTok showcasing this year’s ceremony has been viewed over two million times.

For those interested in learning more about this tradition or watching additional episodes of “Between 2 Foxes,” Marist College provides further content through its official channels.
