Marist University has announced the members of its inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame selection committee, following a strong response to its call for nominations. More than 350 nominations were submitted by the public for consideration before the November 22 deadline.
The selection committee includes alumni with connections to professional sports organizations and media, as well as campus leaders. Alumni representatives are Greg Bibb, Terrence Fede, Sean Kennedy, John Lasker, Maureen Magarity, Bobby Marks, Ian O’Connor, Travis Tellitocci, Brandon Tierney, and Julianne Viani. The Board of Trustees is represented by Eileen Altobelli. Tim Murray serves as Director of Athletics on the committee. Non-voting members include Josie Skelley and Mike Ferraro.
Director of Athletics Tim Murray expressed his confidence in the group’s ability to honor Marist’s athletic legacy. “Their insight, professional experience, and deep connection to the University will help us launch a Hall of Fame that truly honors generations of excellence,” he said.
The committee is scheduled to meet this month to begin reviewing nominations and selecting individuals for induction into the first Hall of Fame class. The induction ceremony will take place during Homecoming & Reunion Weekend in fall 2026.
Nomination categories included student-athletes at least five years removed from matriculation; coaches at least two years removed from coaching at Marist; teams at least five years removed from their special achievement; and contributors such as alumni, friends, benefactors, administrators, and others who have made significant impacts on Marist athletics. These criteria were established to recognize a wide range of contributions to the university’s athletic tradition.
Greg Bibb commented on his appointment: “I’m honored to serve on the Marist Hall of Fame Selection Committee. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help honor and celebrate the accomplishments of Red Fox student athletes, coaches, contributors, and teams. Marist has a proud athletic history and the Hall of Fame will help ensure the outstanding achievements of the past are acknowledged and remembered now and in the future.”
The new Hall of Fame aims to celebrate conference championships, NCAA Tournament appearances, national awards, academic distinctions and other milestones achieved by individuals associated with Marist athletics.
