The New York State Department of Health will host the 10th annual Ending the Epidemic Summit and the 27th World AIDS Day events at the Albany Capital Center on December 9 and 10. The summit aims to gather stakeholders from across New York State to discuss progress, share program innovations, and develop strategies in the ongoing effort to end HIV/AIDS.

Dr. James McDonald, State Health Commissioner, is scheduled to deliver opening remarks on December 9 and will give the keynote address on December 10. Following his address, there will be a World AIDS Day Commissioner’s Special Recognition Awards Ceremony. Panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed during both days of the event.

The events are organized by the New York State Department of Health’s AIDS Institute and coincide with global observances for World AIDS Day held annually on December 1. According to organizers, these gatherings bring together hundreds of participants committed to addressing HIV/AIDS in New York State.
