The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University raised more than $500,000 during its sold-out 31st Annual Law Leadership Dinner on March 12 at the Westchester Country Club. The event brought together alumni, legal professionals, faculty, students, and supporters to celebrate distinguished graduates and mark the start of the law school’s 50th anniversary year.
The dinner is a key fundraiser for Pace Haub Law, supporting academic programs, faculty research, and student opportunities. This year’s gathering also honored members of the first graduating class from 1979 as part of the anniversary celebrations.
Dean Horace E. Anderson Jr. addressed attendees by saying, “Tonight we observe one of our most meaningful traditions. The true measure of a law school is not found in numbers—it is found in outcomes. It is found in the people who leave our classrooms and go on to lead, to serve, to build, to advocate, and to make a difference in the world.” Anderson continued by reflecting on the school’s history: “Fifty years ago, this Law School came into existence. What began as an ambitious vision has grown into a nationally recognized institution that has shaped generations of lawyers, judges, policymakers, and leaders. As we launch our 50th anniversary year, we celebrate not only this milestone but the example set by that first class and carried forward by every generation of alumni who followed.”
Three alumni were recognized for their leadership and service: Robert T. Adams (Class of 1986), Lisa A. Linsky (Class of 1984), and Joseph A. Ruhl (Class of 1990). The Shining Star Award was presented to four recent graduates—Zachary Berliner (2018), Liberta “Libby” Barcia (2022), Eve Lincoln (2017), and Joshua Brachfeld (2023)—for early career accomplishments.
“These alumni are already making a meaningful impact in their professions and communities,” Anderson said. “They are not only succeeding in their respective fields; they are already serving as examples for future generations.”
The event also highlighted Pace Haub Law’s continued national recognition in environmental law education and ongoing contributions from students and faculty through scholarship and advocacy efforts.
Sponsors played a significant role in making the dinner possible with support from organizations such as Lubert-Adler Partners LP as presenting sponsor; Robert T. Adams as justice sponsor; partner sponsors including Susan S. Brown & J. Frank Brown; Lisa A. Linsky; Ringler; ambassador sponsors like Orange Bank & Trust Company; Bleakley Platt & Schmidt; Cuddy & Feder; Morgan Levine Dolan; Sacks & Sacks; Zaremba Brown; along with several associate sponsors.
