Pace University highlights alumni leadership across generations in new retrospective

Pace University released on Mar. 25 a retrospective detailing the achievements of its alumni over the past 120 years, emphasizing their roles in business, public service, health, technology, and the arts.

The university said that its graduates have made significant contributions in various fields since the early days of Pace Institute in lower Manhattan. The stories featured demonstrate how rigorous academics and experiential learning have helped shape leaders who make an impact beyond campus.

Notable alumni highlighted include William B. Franke, a 1917 graduate who served as United States Secretary of the Navy under President Dwight D. Eisenhower; Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Eisner & Lubin and benefactor for whom Pace’s business school is named; Gustav O. Lienhard, former president of Johnson & Johnson; Charles H. Dyson, financier and namesake of Dyson College; Walter Scherr, innovator in communications technology; Ian McDougall, executive at Inco Limited and youth soccer mentor; James E. Healey of Nabisco Holdings Corp.; Donald L. Boudreau at JPMorgan Chase; Maria Fiorini Ramirez in economic consulting and philanthropy; James N. Fernandez at Tiffany & Co.; Ivan Seidenberg at Verizon Communications; Rossana Rosado as New York State Commissioner and journalist; Rob Sands at Constellation Brands and current chair of Pace’s Board of Trustees; Andrea Stewart-Cousins as Majority Leader of the New York State Senate;
José Luis Castro with World Health Organization;
Bill Janetschek with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.;
Tim Morehouse as Olympic medalist and founder of Fencing in the Schools;
Telfar Clemens as fashion designer;
Pedro Rivera as Emmy-winning journalist;
Opal Vadhan working within U.S government offices;
and Cooper Koch achieving early recognition as an actor.

The university said these examples reflect how “generations of Pace graduates have helped shape the very areas of excellence that will define the University’s future.”

According to Pace University,
the achievements described underscore a tradition where curiosity,
ambition,
and commitment drive alumni to influence society locally,
nationally,
and globally.

As it marks its anniversary year,
the university looks ahead to new chapters being written by emerging leaders from its programs.
