The New York State Public Service Commission has announced a change in schedule for the virtual public statement hearing regarding the proposed transmission line rebuild. The hearing, originally planned for an earlier date, will now take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. An Administrative Law Judge will preside over the session.
Members of the public who wish to participate electronically can join by visiting meetny-gov.webex.com and entering access code 2828 908 6827 with password Jan8-5:30pm at the designated time. Those preferring to join by phone may call 1-929-251-9612 using the same access code and phone-in password 52680503.
Anyone interested in making a statement during the hearing is welcome to do so without pre-registration. Participants joining electronically are advised to select either “call me” or “call using computer” when prompted for their audio system preference.
For those who want to listen without speaking, calling in with the provided number and codes is sufficient. All participants will be muted upon entry; speakers will be called upon individually by the Administrative Law Judge. Reasonable time limits may be imposed to ensure all voices are heard, and lengthy comments should be summarized orally with full remarks submitted in writing. A verbatim transcript of the proceedings will become part of the official record.
Individuals requiring accommodations due to disabilities should contact the Department of Public Service’s Human Resource Management Office at 518-473-9463 as soon as possible. TDD users can request a sign language interpreter through New York Relay Service at 711. Free language assistance services are available by calling 1-800-342-3377.
Those unable or unwilling to attend have alternative options for submitting comments related to Case “25-T-0262.” Comments must be received by February 2, 2026 and can be filed online at www.dps.ny.gov under “File Search,” referencing case number “25-T-0262,” or mailed directly to Hon. Michelle L. Phillips, Secretary, Public Service Commission, Three Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12223-1350; however, electronic filing is encouraged.
Written comments will be posted publicly on the Department’s website under the relevant case number’s “Public Comments” tab. Additionally, feedback can be provided via a toll-free Opinion Line at 1-800-335-2120 for in-state callers; these messages are summarized and shared with the Commission rather than transcribed verbatim.
